'The Likes of us' by Micheal Collins (no not that one!) it's about the history of the white, english working class from a class based stand point. Very inspiring and well worth a read, though the conclusions in the last chapter spoil it a little bit!

A great book, really well-written, lots of great points -- but deeply flawed. In my view, he ends up embracing the multicultural ideology he criticises, but just demands a place for "white working class culture" in the mosaic of multiculturalism - not radical enough.
Oh yeah, I completely agree, it makes the book pretty frustrating to be honest, but still worth a read.
